Franklinton is a city on the edge of downtown Columbus and in the past has been stricken with naturals disasters and economic downturn, leading to a host of economic and social issues that continue to plague the town. The Franklinton Development Association (FDA) was applying for a grant through the ArtPlace Program in order to combat these issues and inspire some creative problem solving, so the came to us to help create a video for the application.
We worked directly with Jack Story, CEO of the Franklinton Urban Empowerment Lab (FUEL) and his PR team to create a storyboard, shot list, interview questions, and a production schedule including interviews and several scenes of notable locations around Franklinton FUEL entrusted us with showing the need and real potential that a grant from the ArtPlace foundation would have for the town.
We put together a 3 minute video that represents the heart of the town of Franklinton, telling its story efficiently while conveying the depth of the trauma involved in the town’s history.
